A stray flamingo was spotted at a water hole within
the conservancy. It was weak probably due to exhaustion. It was captured
manually and released at Lake Oloiden where it was thought to have come from.

diarrhead once. Treated tentatively for constipation. 100ml liquid paraffin
as Enema; 100ml dextrose Infusion fluid were administered 12000mgs Penicillin
antibiotic and 6mgs Ivermectin dewormer plus 20cc Multivitamin appetite
inducer were administered 6mgs Ivermectin dewormer plus 20cc Multivitamin
appetite inducer were administered

Immobilized using 100mgs Zoletil and 4mgs
medetomidine. The exercise took 40 minutes and the lioness was revived after
90 minutes following immobilization with 15mgs Atipamezole. They were advised
to oil the meat with Olive Oil twice a week. Next day she was reported to
have consumed three kilo liver

Had a lameness on the left fore limb caused by a
swelling on the lateral side of carpal joint. The clear viscous fluid was
drained by making an opening at lower side of the swelling to allow drainage.
The abscess was drained and cleaned using hydrogen peroxide and iodine. He is
under observation for any recurrent

Immobilized using 10mgs Etorphine and 50mgs
Azaperone. 15000mg Penicillin antibiotic and 10mgs Ivermectin anthelminthic
covers were done, 40cc Multivitamin and 20cc Pyrethroid acaricide were
applied. He was revived using 30mgs Diprenorphine intravenously

lot of lice infestation and probable mange strike. Was treated for mange and
skin scrapings sampled for more investigation at KWS Vet Lab. She will be

intramuscularly, 20cc Pyrethroid acaricide topically, 10mgs Ivermectin
subcutaneously were administered. She was revived using 30mgs Diprenorphine.

hock joint on the left hind limb. It was treated systemically and locally.

The wound was cleaned using Hydrogen Peroxide and Iodine. Opticlox penicillin
cream was infiltrated into the wound. 6000mgs Penicillin antibiotic
intramuscularly and 6mgs Ivermectin subcutaneously were administered. It was
revived from narcosis using 18mgs Diprenorphine.

Upon examination it was found to have caused an abscess at the mid neck
ventrally. The snare wire was taken off the neck and abscess managed as an
open wound by making an opening at the most ventral point to allow free
drainage. Thick creamy tenacious discharge was expressed from the abscess

Darted using Etorphine Azaperone mixture of 6 and
40mgs respectively. 4500mgs Tetracycline Hydrochloride intramuscularly, abscesses
was cleaned using Hydrogen Peroxide and Iodine and tetracycline wound spray
infiltrated into the pocket. 6mgs Ivermectine subcutaneously

overgrown hooves. Hoof trimming was done on all four limbs using hoof trimmer

Etorphine. 6000mgs Penicillin and 20cc Multivit intramuscularly, 10mgs
Ivermectin subcutaneously, and tetracycline wound spray was applied on the
patch. It was revived using 75mgs Naltrexone and 5mgs Atipamezole.

Penicillin and 5cc Dexamethasone were administered intramuscularly.

Baboon Attack
|
|
Had been attacked by a troop of baboons. Passersby
rescued him and called for assistance. It had sustained skin tears at left
hock joint posteriorly, at withers and around the face. He was sutured at
hock joint and other wounds treated as open wounds. Systemic antibiotics and
ant-inflammatory were administered. It is under observation at clinic and to
be released after healing. To be released after treatment

The anesthesia was done locally around the wound by
use of lignocaine. The area was cleaned using surgical spirit and shaved.
Nylon suture No. 3 attached on cutting needle was used. Simple interrupted
sutures were applied 6 in number. Skin edges juxtaposed very well. 2cc
Flunixin Meglumine and 150mgs Penicillin was intramuscularly injected. Wound
spray was applied topically.

|
|
Found on left lateral recumbency with two horns
precisely removed. Two gunshot wounds were observed on the right scapular.
The carcass had begun to be predated on. The carcass was about 48hrs old.
One wound at almost top of scapular was followed and
caused spine injury at cervical no. 4 before exiting on the right side. The
other one went in through the right caudal lung lobe and left one, hit
scapular at anterior third and settled under the skin on the left scapular.
One bullet head was recovered. The animal died of cardiorespiratory failure.

Deep digital flexor tendon-Flexion

She has been monitored over the last six months from
time she was heavily pregnant to now when the foal is about five months old.
The deep digital flexor tendon having been short led to flexion and knuckling
of the fetlock joint limiting ambulation and impacting stress.

Darted using a mixture of Etorphine and Detomidine
as 6 and 10mgs respectively. To reduce the suffering the animal was
euthanized using 400mgs Sodium Pentobarbitone
|
